Pappa col pomodoro [Bread and tomato soup]

Ingredients

Pappa col pomodoro [Bread and tomato soup] 2 garlic clovers
olive oil
gr 500 ripe tomatoes, pealed and roughly chopped
basil
salt and pepper
lt 1 broth
gr 250 stale unsalted bread

Method

Place small slices of home-made style dry unsalted bread in a pan with broth, olive oil, garlic, tomato, basil, salt and pepper, and cook for about 15 minutes. Add a trickle of fresh olive oil and serve.
